Spending time in nature is essential — it boosts our health and nourishes our soul. We work to make sure people have access to nature by keeping trails well maintained for you to explore and enjoy. Keeping the forests healthy is crucial too, and we are entrusted to do just that. Managing the land to sustain long-term resiliency takes work and vision. We must control invasive non-native plants that crowd out native wildflowers and slow the growth of trees. And protect healthy, mature forests that promote clean water and help combat climate change.
Your help is needed to maintain these natural spaces.
Healthy Forest Friends
All donations to the Healthy Forest Fund directly support care of local preserves, helping nurture natural habitats and the wildlife, and enriching recreation opportunities in local forests. Donations of any size — from $10 to $100 to more! — support our land stewardship efforts.
This fall, we are offering you a special opportunity to partner with us as a Healthy Forest Friend. These special donations will help us maintain and prioritize forest health, keep trails clear and accessible for you to explore, and rid the preserves of pesky, non-native invasive plants.
Your (or your group’s) $1,000 donation makes a significant and immediate impact on the beautiful lands around Athens. Together, our forest friends will help ensure the preserves and forests are strong and resilient today and for our community to enjoy in the future. You will also receive:
- Recognition on website and annual report
- Invitation to a guided hike
- Athens Conservancy wildflower t-shirt
- Handmade Athens Conservancy mug.
Consider a gift today to care for the special spaces and wild places that remind us all of our place in the natural world. Contact: Victoria Ellwood, victoria@athensconservancy.org
