A big thank you to everyone who joined us for a fabulous Wildflower Walk on April 15. The sun was shining, wildflowers were all abloom, and we had a record number of flower-walkers on hand (or on foot, rather). Several groups set off from the Beaumont-Salina Trailhead, ambling along the Hockhocking-Adena Bikeway for a mile or so, with bountiful wildflowers showing off in the adjacent Bluebell Preserve. We saw Virginia bluebells, large-flowered trillium, toad trillium, purple dead nettle, blue-eyed Mary, wild blue phlox, squirrel corn, Dutchman’s breeches, spring beauties, and more! Thanks to our wonderful walk leaders – Jane Balbo, Andrea Miller, Sam Gutekanst, and Bill Rucker – for their friendly presence and helpful flower-ID skills! What’s your favorite spring wildflower?
