You may have noticed that several of the trees I turn are from invasive species located in Southeastern Ohio. Invasive species, land overuse, and land misuse are a few of the issues that make it rough for our forested lands to thrive. The Athens Conservancy is a nonprofit land trust set up to create ecosystems that support native biodiversity. Through long range land management Athens Conservancy is working to make forests healthy and resilient. If you live or work in the Athens area, I encourage you to support their work and if you live elsewhere, please seek out a land trust in your area, our forests and lands needs all our help. 5% of all sales at Hostetler Wood Studio goes to sustain the important work of The Athens Conservancy.
