Thank you to all who joined us on Monday, Oct. 16, for our 2023 annual meeting at Little Fish! While the weather didn’t quite cooperate for our planned festivities on the patio, we enjoyed gathering inside the brewery instead for lots of mingling, Conservancy updates, our guest speaker’s comments, new business, awards, and a potluck (with plenty of autumn recipes bubbling in crock pots!).
Board President Donna Goodman summed up our feelings best when she said:
“Welcome to Athens Conservancy’s annual meeting, or what I always think of as our family reunion! Whether you are a brand new member or have supported our work for years, please know how much we appreciate each and every one of you.
We would not be able to do the work of protecting our beautiful forested hills without the you, the cornerstone of our Athens Conservancy community. It is because you care; it is because you cherish the natural world that surrounds and sustains us; it is because you want your grandkids to grow up in a world where unspoiled places remain. We literally would not exist without you and your support. You are our heroes! So thank you from the bottom of our hearts and the tops our of highest ridges!”
