The Dairy Barn
The Dairy Barn is a remnant property from the old Athens Mental Health Asylum. Its 32 acres include the old dairy barn from the farm operation, which now operates as an art gallery and arts and crafts center, and features, as well, the Ora Anderson Trail, a 1-mile trail circling the property. Ora Anderson was a well-known local bird-watcher and environmentalist, and the trail features good bird-watching venues and scenic views.

Directions

From downtown Athens, go south on Congress Street. At Union Street, it becomes Richland Avenue. Continue on Richland Avenue over the Hocking River and through the roundabout. The first right after the roundabout will be Dairy Lane. Turn right on Dairy Lane and go just over 0.6 mile to the Dairy Barn driveway on your left. Turn left and circle around to the rear to the building to parking.
