Cackley Swamp is located in Madison Township in Jackson County, northeast of Oak Hill, Ohio, and southwest of Cooper Hollow Wildlife Area. It is an extension of the swamps of the Cooper Hollow area, and is in the Symmes Creek drainage. Acquisition of additional land for this preserve is active and ongoing. Much of the land acquired was done so with a grant from the US Fish and Wildlife Service. Some of the land was acquired by the Ohio Valley Conservation Coalition and transferred to the Appalachia Ohio Alliance. |
