Athens Conservancy continues to expand and improve the publicly accessed lands in and around Athens County – so community members and visitors can hike, run, explore, bird-watch, or just mosey around our beautiful preserves. Please consider making a donation to support our local conservation efforts.
Keeping our forests healthy is important, too, and it takes lots of work. Each year, the Conservancy’s volunteers and a few hired land stewards spend hundreds of hours keeping the forests in shape and maintaining the trails. They remove invasive plants that endanger native flora, and clear brush and fallen trees to keep trails open and accessible. We’ve started a Healthy Forest Fund to help maintain the health of the forest and take care of the trails. To give to this fund, you may indicate the Healthy Forest Fund on our Donate page.
